Understanding Australia's Do-Not-Call Registry

The Australian economy is rapidly growing. Companies are growing and expanding which means more competition between firms. It is important that they stay on top with their marketing strategy. One way of getting ahead is through telemarketing. If an Australian business owner plans of outsource their telemarketing services, they should make sure that these call centre agents take great heed when it comes to the country's Do-Not-Call Registry.

A Do-Not-Call Registry is a list of individuals that have their contact information placed in this database wherein telephone marketing companies are not allowed to contact them. Most of the people within this registry do not want to be called. They might have a very busy lifestyle and does not want to be disturbed.

However, it does not mean that targeting Australian clients and customers has already died out. There are some exceptions to the rule when contacting these individuals even if they are listed within the registry. For instance, if a telephone marketing company has a campaign where they have to gather information from their client's prospects.

The DNC list is created so that people have a choice not to get telemarketing calls. Some companies use unprofessional agents that caused others to enlist their name there. It is important that telemarketing companies should be aware of this law so that they won’t tarnish the name of the company and also to avoid unwanted complains.
